self_improvement Meditation Education

While working on my Infant Sleep Education certification I was introduced to yoga nidra. After experiencing wonderful improvements myself and recommending it to several friends who also had improvements with their sleep, I decided that I needed to learn more. I got certified as a Meditation Teacher and am excited to share the benefits with you! I am specifically interested in teaching yoga nidra (the sleep yoga) to parents and helping them teach breathing techniques and mindfulness to their young children.

Many people have misconceptions about meditation. It does not need to be done in particular seated positions with a well practiced yogi or any props. All you need is your body and your breath. Focusing your mind and breath have resounding health benefits, one of which is improved sleep, but research also shows an improvement in blood pressure, mood disorders, and focus. Teaching young children mindfulness and breathing techniques will allow them a lifetime of benefits.
